Topics of Interest

As we are learning in our 1101 library and academic research class it is quite simple to create a web site that looks extremely legitimate and professional. Not knowing the difference in the long wrong can be harmful to not only your pockets, your academics, but most importantly it can be dangerous as well hurtful to your physical health. For my research project I would like to research fraud modeling agencies or I would like to research unauthorized plastic surgeons. In today’s society there are tons of young aspiring female models that are always looking for work but they don’t always run into legitimate agencies. In their eyes the web site seems okay but in reality many of them are just a trap and a way for them to be easily targeted by the wrong crowd. If you were to type in plastic surgery gone wrong into a search engine thousands of pictures would pop up. Often times I wonder how couldn't these people not know this would happen this is the answer many of these “Plastic surgeons “are not doctors!!!!!  I picked these two things because I would like to see how easy it would be to fall into the same trap that many people fall into every day.

  1. Jiya,

Both of these ideas have the potential to be very interesting projects. They are two areas in which people run the risk of being misled by someone who appears legitimate. And as you noted, the consequences can be very serious. Looking forward to seeing what you decide to focus on as we learn more about the research process over the next couple of weeks.
